No united Opposition?

Opposition parties are continuously distancing themselves from JPC
SP President Akhilesh Yadav made it clear that he stands with Mamata Banerjee and TMC on this issue. In a conversation with the a news cahnnel, he raised the question that when Home Minister Amit Shah himself has said that he was falsely implicated in many cases, then on what basis has this bill been brought? Akhilesh Yadav also put the example of his leaders like Azam Khan and Ramakant Yadav who had to stay in jail for a long time.

TMC MP Derek O'Brien called this JPC a complete 'drama'. He says that the Modi government is deliberately fueling such issues so that attention can be diverted from the real questions. Pressure on Congress to maintain opposition unity
MP Derek O'Brien said, that TMC and SP have decided not to join the JPC. He said, the Lok Sabha Speaker and the Rajya Sabha Chairman together select the chairman of the JPC and the nomination of members is based on the number of the party. This makes the committee tilt in favor of the ruling party.
