Top Naxal commander Hidma, along with his wife, killed in Sukma encounter
Top Maoist Commander Madvi Hidma killed: Notorious Naxalite commander Madvi Hidma (43) has been killed by security forces. His wife Raje was also killed in the encounter. Hidma, 43, was responsible for at least 26 armed attacks, including the 2013 Darbha Valley massacre and the 2017 Sukma attack.
Hidma carried a bounty of ₹50 lakh. Six Naxalites have been confirmed killed so far.
Notorious Naxalite Hidma and his wife Raje were reportedly killed
This major encounter took place in the forests along the Chhattisgarh-Andhra Pradesh border. Firing between security forces and Naxalites occurred between 6 and 7 am near Maredumilli in Andhra Pradesh's Alluri Sitaramraju district. A total of six Naxalites were killed.

These include Madvi Hidma, a member of the South Bastar Battalion (CCM), his wife Raje, Lakmal, Kamalu, Malla, and Deve (Hidma's guard). Security forces recovered two AK47s, one revolver, and one pistol from the slain Naxalites.
For the past few weeks, AP SIB and intelligence inputs have specifically indicated Naxalite movement near the AP-Chhattisgarh-Odisha border, and this operation was conducted based on those inputs, and the security forces were successful. Combing operations are still ongoing.

Born: 1981, Purvarti, Sukma (Chhattisgarh)
Position: Head of PLGA Battalion No. 1, the Naxalite's most lethal strike unit.
He was the only tribal from the Bastar region to join the Central Committee.
A bounty of ₹50 lakh was announced on his head.
His second wife, Raje (Rajakka), was also killed along with Hidma.
