Torrential rains wreak havoc in Maharashtra, local trains delayed amid this BMC alert people
Maharashtra Weather Update: The continuous rain in the capital Mumbai since midnight is also affecting the rail traffic on Monday morning. Local services of Central Railway, Harbor and Western Railway have been affected, due to which office-going passengers are facing trouble.
On the main line of Central Railway, slow local trains going towards Kalyan are running 5 minutes late, while fast local trains coming towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) have registered an average delay of 10 minutes.
Slow local services are also running 5 minutes late than normal.
Heavy rains have caused flood-like conditions in Baramati and Daund, damage has been caused due to breaking of Nira Dawa canal.

Services on the Harbor Line have also started at a slow pace due to rain. At the same time, delays of up to 5 minutes are also being seen in local trains of Western Railway.

Light to moderate rain is still continuing in areas like Kurla, Vidya Vihar, Sion, Dadar and Parel of Mumbai. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that moderate to heavy rain may continue for the next few hours. Due to this, Mumbaikars may have to start the day by getting wet in the morning.
Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of rain may remain, and waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas. The BMC has appealed to the citizens to leave the house only when it is absolutely necessary.
Last night also, waterlogging was caused in many areas due to heavy rain, which disrupted traffic. The administration has said to keep monitoring the situation.
Alert issued for many districts
For today, IMD has issued an orange alert for Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts.
Yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and other districts of Maharashtra.
In the next 3-4 hours, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rains with strong winds at a speed of 50-60 km per hour in some districts of the state.
Administration has appealed to the citizens to remain alert.
