Tragic accident in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, car plunged into a 300-meter-deep gorge
Chamoli Car Crash: Five people died in a tragic road accident on Friday (18 April) evening in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. While this accident has been taken place near Gaadi village on Birhi-Nijmula road, where a car fell into a 300-meter-deep gorge. Police started relief and rescue operations on the spot.
The car fell into a 300-meter-deep gorge near Gaadi village on Birhi-Nijmula road, killing all five people in it. It is said that this incident happened at 6.30 pm. All the people were returning after attending a wedding ceremony.
Horrific road accident took place in Chamoli
Around 6:30 pm on Friday evening, a black Alto K10 car was returning from a wedding ceremony in Pagna village. The driver lost control of the vehicle near Gaadi village, causing the car to slip off the road and fall into a gorge about 300 meters deep. All five people in the car were residents of Golim village. They died on the spot.
Process of identification of the dead continues
As soon as the incident was reported, Chamoli police station reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sarvesh Panwar said that the process of identification of the dead is going on and the accident is being investigated.
