Train will run for the first time between the hills of Mizoram, PM Modi will flag off today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a tour of Mizoram today. During this, he will inaugurate the Berabi-Sairang new railway line project. This project will connect Mizoram's capital Aizawl to the Indian Railways network, which is a historic achievement for the state. This railway line, about 51 km long, has been constructed at a cost of Rs 8,000 crore.

With the completion of this project, Aizawl will become the fourth capital of the Northeast region, which will be connected to the national rail network. Earlier, Guwahati, Agartala and Itanagar have been connected to the railway network. This expansion of rail connectivity will not only ease the movement of people, but will also give new impetus to trade, tourism and economic development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) shared information on X before the visit and said, “I am looking forward to being among my brothers and sisters in Aizawl on 13th September. This visit is very special, as this wonderful city is going to be connected to the railway network for the first time with the inauguration of the Berabi-Sairang new rail line.
This rail line is built on very challenging terrain and includes many big and small bridges. The coming of rail connectivity will boost commerce and tourism. The foundation stone of major road projects will also be laid. Other projects include the foundation stone laying of Khelo India Multipurpose Indoor Hall and the inauguration of a residential school in Kawartha and Eklavya Model Residential School in Tlangnuam.”
Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed happiness
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also expressed excitement about the project. He said, “It is a matter of great pride that the dream of Mizoram is going to be fulfilled at the hands of Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate three new trains on Saturday, which will include Rajdhani Express for Delhi, a train for Kolkata and a train for Guwahati.”
He further said that work is also being done to start freight facilities in Mizoram and soon the system of goods train will be implemented. This will give a big boost to the trade and industry of the state.
