According to the National Centre for Seismology, the magnitude of the earthquake was measured 4.0 on the Richter scale, its epicentre was at a depth of 5 km from the earth near Delhi.

The earthquake struck Delhi at 5:30 am

The tremors of the earthquake, which lasted for a few seconds in Delhi, were so strong that strong vibrations were felt inside the buildings. The earthquake struck at 5:36 am, causing people to lose their sleep. An official said that the epicentre of the earthquake was near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan.

Epicenter was near the lake

The official said that there is a lake near the place where the epicentre was. This area has been experiencing small and low-intensity earthquakes once every two to three years. He said, in 2015, an earthquake of 3.3 magnitude occurred here. The tremors of the earthquake were felt in Delhi-NCR as well as neighbouring states.
