Trudeau calling Swastik a hateful symbol, offending Hindus around the world
Justin Trudeau recently called Swastik a hateful symbol inviting a storm of criticism. The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau just cannot stay away from controversy for a long time. The last time Justin spoke on an issue regarding India, he stained India-Canadian relations. Canada has not been able to clear the stain from the last time, and Justine Trudeau said something so controversial this time that his comments have the capacity to hurt millions of Hindus around the world, particularly in India.
What did Justin Say?
Justin Trudeau took to X and said that Swastik is a hate symbol and that such symbols should not be allowed to flaunt in the parliament of Canada.
When we see or hear hateful language and imagery, we must condemn it. The display of a swastika by an individual on Parliament Hill is unacceptable. Canadians have the right to assemble peacefully – but we cannot tolerate antisemitism, Islamophobia, or hate of any kind.

Swastik and the Nazi Hakenkreuz
While Swastik is a symbol of purity, positivity, and growth for Hindus around the world, it is often confused with the Nazi symbol. It is used as a symbol that brings luck and positive energy to Hindu households. People often make it during Puja and after inaugurating something or on auspicious occasions.
The Nazi Symbol of Hakenkreuz resembles Swastik to a high degree but is visibly different. Hakenkreuz is black colored against a white circular background with a 45% tilt. The circle sits on a red-colored background. Swastik has straight verticle and horizontal lines with 4 dots between each side. On the other hand, Hakenkreuz does not.
According to history, it is said that Hakenkruez was inspired by the Hindu symbol Swastik. The purpose served by Hakencruz is entirely different from that of Swastik. HakenKreuz is hated by people as it was a Nazi symbol used during Holocaust, oppression, and deaths in the name of Race.
