Two Policemen Suspended in Jaipur after the death of Karni Sena Chief Gogamedi

In a shocking turn of events, the national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was brutally murdered in Jaipur, prompting the immediate suspension of two police personnel, including the station house officer (SHO). The Jaipur Police Commissioner took swift action on Wednesday, suspending the SHO of Shyam Nagar police station and the beat constable as investigations into the brazen killing unfold.

Sheela Shekhawat asks for support

Widow Sheela Shekhawat addressed the media, revealing the suspension was a result of negligence in connection with Gogamedi's murder. She urged Karni Sena activists for support, stating, "Your sister will call you again, if required, and you will have to come out and support me. I request you all to come and pay your last respects (to Gogamedi) tomorrow. We have been assured that the accused will be arrested within 72 hours." She also appealed to the community to pay their respects at Rajput Sabha Bhawan in Jaipur before Gogamedi's last rites in his native village, Gogamedi.

To maintain order during the funeral proceedings, the Central Armed Police Force has been deployed in Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan. Officials have assured that the situation is under control, with Central Armed Police Force and Rapid Action Force personnel stationed at sensitive locations in the city.

A retired judge from the high court will oversee the comprehensive investigation into the sequence of events leading to Gogamedi's murder. This announcement led to the dispersal of protests in front of Metro Mass Hospital.

Gogamedi's widow accepted the agreement between the Police Commissioner and the Sangharsh Committee, resulting in the protest's withdrawal. The post-mortem examination on the Karni Sena chief will be conducted at SMS Hospital in Jaipur.

In a significant development, the Rajasthan Police identified two shooters involved in the murder: Rohit Rathore Makrana and Nitin Fauji, the latter hailing from Mahendragarh in Haryana. The third assailant, Naveen Shekhawat, was killed during a confrontation with the police at Gogamedi's residence, leading to the injury of one of Gogamedi's security guards.

Gogamedi's assassination has sparked outrage within the Rajput community, initially prompting a statewide bandh on Wednesday, which was later called off. Authorities are maintaining vigilance, closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with the state police. As the investigation progresses, the quest for justice intensifies in the wake of this tragic incident.
