UP Police Detain Four Inter-State Heroin Smugglers with 1.5 kg of Drugs
Four individuals engaged in inter-state drug trafficking were apprehended by the Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday, with authorities seizing 1.5 kg of heroin from their possession.
The Superintendent of Ghazipur Police reported that the arrests occurred during routine checks at the Nahar Puliya bypass, involving a vehicle with an Assam license plate.
Acting on received intelligence about the smugglers, a collaborative effort between the SWAT surveillance team and the police led to the successful operation. Among the detained individuals, three hailed from Manipur, while one was from Ghazipur and had a criminal record.
The arrested individuals disclosed to the police that they had transported the heroin from Manipur to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with plans to distribute it to other states at an escalated price point.
A case has been registered against them at the Dildar Nagar Police Station under pertinent sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
