The reason behind this sudden fierce protest in Nepal is the recent decision of the Oli government. Citing rules, the government suddenly banned 26 social media platforms, including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. After the Supreme Court's instructions, the Nepal government had ordered all social media platforms to register within 7 days.

What are the allegations against the government?

The Nepal government said; that according to central government rule every social media platform, must open there company office in Nepal. And appoint local officials to remove wrong content and respond to legal notices, but the youth of the country allege that the government wants to end freedom of expression.
