Voting on Waqf Bill in Lok Sabha shortly, Kiren Rijiju said - it is completely constitutional
Parliament Budget Session: To ensure accountability and transparency in Waqf Boards across the country, the Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha today, which is being discussed. Changes have been made in the existing Waqf law through the bill. The bill is being opposed by the opposition.
If the bill was unconstitutional, the court would have canceled it: Rijiju
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, I thank all the leaders for giving their opinion on the bill. Some leaders are saying that this bill is unconstitutional, I want to ask them how can they say so? If it was unconstitutional, the court would have canceled it. Words like unconstitutional should not be used.

This bill is not against the Constitution, as the opposition is claiming. We should not use the words constitutional and unconstitutional lightly.
Asaduddin Owaisi raised many issues
After this, he targeted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and said, Asaduddin Owaisi raised many issues and alleged that provision is being made in Waqf for Muslims and children of Muslims, but why not for Hindus? I want to tell him that provision already exists for Hindus, there is no need to make any new law for this.

Government has majority in both the houses - Jagdambika Pal
While speaking during the discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025, Lok Sabha MP and JPC chairman on Waqf Bill Jagdambika Pal said that he was happy to be made the head of JPC and thanked the party. Jagdambika Pal said - They have formed the Sachar Committee; they did not worry about the recommendations of the Sachar Committee.

We are implementing the recommendations of the Sachar Committee. During this, Jagdambika Pal criticized AIMIM chief Owaisi for tearing the Waqf Amendment Bill. He said that Owaisi called the bill unconstitutional, but tearing the bill is an unconstitutional act. He also claimed that the government has accepted all the suggestions given by the JPC.
Asaduddin Owaisi opposed the Waqf Bill
Speaking in opposition to the Waqf Bill, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi started his speech with a line. He said that this bill is an attack on the worship of the Muslims of India. The central government has waged a war against Muslims. And this war is on me. During this, he said that this is a violation of Article 25, 26. He further said that the Waqf Bill is injustice to Muslims. Asaduddin Owaisi said that its purpose is to humiliate Muslims.
