'Wanted to go Somnath after Mahakumbh bath', PM Modi 'Mann Ki Baat' after worshiping in Somnath

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi worshiped in Somnath temple on Sunday evening and did Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. After worshiping in the temple, the PM said that he wanted to go to Somnath temple for darshan after Prayagraj Mahakumbh bath.

This temple reflects the timeless heritage and courage of our culture. Today I felt very good praying in Somnath temple.

PM Modi has shared pictures of worship, Jalabhishek and circumambulation of the temple premises in Somnath temple on Instagram. Sharing the pictures, the PM said, 'I had decided that after Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, I will go to Somnath which is the first Jyotirlinga out of 12 Jyotirlingas.

He further wrote, 'Today I felt very happy to pray at the Somnath temple. I prayed for the prosperity of every Indian. This temple reflects the timeless heritage and courage of our culture.'

In fact, PM Modi has come to Gujarat on a three-day visit. On the second day of his visit, he reached the Somnath temple in the evening, where he offered prayers and after that he left for Sasan Gir in Junagadh. The PM will rest tonight at Singh Sadan in Junagadh.

On Monday morning, he will go on a safari in Gir National Park, the home of Asiatic lions, and then also meet the forest guard. And later on, Wildlife Day, he will chair the meeting of the Wildlife Ward. Also, on Monday afternoon, PM Modi will leave for Delhi from Rajkot.

At the same time, while going from the helipad to Singh Sadan, the local people gave a warm welcome to the PM. Earlier, PM Modi visited Vantara, the animal rescue, conservation and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar on Sunday morning.

It is spread over three thousand acres, where more than 240 rescued elephants are taken care of. Vantara is known for its world-class veterinary services. Vantara has world-class health care, hospitals, research and academic centres for animals
