'We will tear the bill; break the table: There is a possibility of uproar in the Lok Sabha today. Today the central government is going to introduce three controversial bills, under which there is a provision to remove the Prime Minister, Union Minister, Chief Minister or Minister of State or Union Territory from the post if he remains in jail for 30 consecutive days in connection with serious criminal charges.
An opposition MP has spoken of strongly opposing this bill and threatened that when Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduces it in the Lok Sabha, they will protest on a large scale.
The MP gave this warning before the start of the session on Wednesday, "We will not even let it be introduced.

The opposition has reacted sharply to this bill and has threatened to strongly oppose it. Talking to Aaj Tak, an opposition MP has spoken of strongly opposing this bill and threatened that when Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduces it in the Lok Sabha, they will protest on a large scale. Will break the table and tear the Amendment bill
Meanwhile there are three bills will be tabled, one- Union Territory Government , 2- Constitution Bill 2025, and 3- Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill 2025 - will be introduced in the Lok Sabha by Home Minister Amit Shah. Amit Shah will also propose to send these bills to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).

However, the opposition has strongly objected to the proposed law, saying that the central government wants to bring a law to destabilize non-BJP governments.

The main complaint of the opposition is that the government will use this law to destabilize opposition-ruled states through arbitrary arrests of ministers and chief ministers. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi criticized the central proposal and tweeted, "Best way to destabilize the opposition is to deploy central agencies to arrest opposition Chief Ministers of the states, and remove them by arbitrarily despite being unable to defeat them electorally."
What is in the controversial bill?
The central government's move comes against the backdrop of controversies in the past when leaders like former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji continued to hold office despite being in jail.
The Bill states, “If a Minister, while in office, is arrested and detained on a charge of committing an offence punishable with imprisonment for five years or more for any period of 30 consecutive days, he shall, on the 31st day of such detention, be removed from his office by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister.”
