Weather Update: These days, most parts of the country are experiencing severe cold. On Friday, people had to face fog along with cold. The situation was such that more than 100 flights were delayed at Delhi airport on Friday morning. Due to this, passengers had to face a lot of trouble. Due to dense fog, there was low visibility at Delhi airport, which affected the operation of air services.
According to the information available on flight tracking website Flightradar.com, more than 100 flights have been delayed at the airport. Dial asked passengers to contact the concerned airlines for flight information.
Airport authority appealed on social media
IndiGo Airlines, in a post shared on social media platform X at 5.04 am, appealed to passengers to stay updated about the flight status before going to the airport. Airport operator Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a post on X at 5.52 am, 'Due to dense fog, the departure of flights has been affected, however, CAT III rule compliant flights are operating from Delhi Airport.' It is worth noting that CAT III compliance allows flight operations even in low visibility conditions.

According to information available on flight tracking website Flightradar.com, more than 100 flights have been delayed at the airport. IndiGo said, 'We advise you to take extra time for your journey to the airport as visibility is low and traffic has slowed down due to fog conditions in Delhi.' Around 1,300 flights operate from the national capital's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) every day.
Minimum temperature in Delhi expected to be six degrees Celsius today
A thick blanket of fog engulfed the national capital on Friday morning, reducing visibility to zero. According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded a temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius at 5.30 am on Friday. According to the weather department forecast, the minimum temperature today is expected to be 6 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 20 degrees Celsius with 'dense fog'.
Air quality turns severe in Delhi
The air quality in the national capital has reached the 'severe' category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI in Delhi was recorded at 409 at 7 am today. While AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory' and 101 to 200 'moderate 'and 401 to 500 'severe'. With the drop in temperature, many night shelters in various parts of the national capital saw all beds filled. Even though the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) has also set up tents to provide shelter to homeless people.
