Which is more dangerous hydrogen or atom bomb:  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has warned BJP that he is going to explode a hydrogen bomb after the atom bomb. He said, BJP listen, hydrogen bomb is bigger than atom bomb. Now get ready, hydrogen bomb is coming. BJP retaliated on this statement of Rahul. Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said what is the connection between atom bomb and hydrogen bomb with elections. Ravi Shankar Prasad asked Rahul  Gandhi why are you making yourself so light. You are sitting on the post of leader of opposition. Your conduct will be somewhat decent while sitting there.

Amidst the attacks and counter-attacks, it also becomes important to know what is the difference between atom bomb and hydrogen bomb.

Know about the atom bomb

Hydrogen bomb has not been used in war by any country till now. Experts say that it has the power to destroy an entire city and kill more people than the already powerful atomic bomb. Let us tell you that more than 2,00,000 people were killed in Japan after the US dropped the world's first atomic bomb on Hiroshima during World War II in 1945 and another atomic bomb on Nagasaki three days later. The bomb blasts in both these cities were so devastating that Japan was forced to surrender.

Hydrogen bomb is more dangerous

According to nuclear expert’s statement, a hydrogen bomb can be 1,000 times more dangerous than an atomic bomb. According to the New York Times report, the US had seen its horror by testing a hydrogen bomb within the country in 1954. According to Edward Morse, professor of atomic engineering at the University of California Berkeley, a hydrogen bomb causes a bigger explosion.

Hydrogen bombs are also called thermonuclear bombs. This fusion bomb is placed inside an irradiated container containing fusion fuel such as tritium or deuterium. Both of these are isotopes of hydrogen. Explosive material, fission bombs explode and cause the primary reaction. This then compresses the fusion fuel which causes further nuclear chain reactions as a secondary reaction.

Difference between the two

The big difference between an atomic bomb and a hydrogen bomb is how they release energy. According to Time magazine, an atomic bomb works by splitting a heavy atom such as uranium or plutonium into smaller pieces. This process is called fission and releases a lot of energy. Although the explosion of an atomic bomb is powerful, it is not as powerful as a hydrogen bomb.

Hydrogen bombs are also called thermonuclear bombs. It uses a combination of two processes. Fission and fusion. A hydrogen bomb uses not only uranium or plutonium, but also deuterium and tritium. These hydrogen atoms combine to produce a massive explosion, making hydrogen bombs far more powerful than atomic bombs. Hydrogen bombs use magnesium hydride to produce a powerful explosion without nuclear material.

Summary

Hydrogen bomb has the capability to destroy an entire city. It is also called city killer. The world has already seen how much destruction an atom bomb can cause. America used it in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. After this Japan surrendered.
