Sushila Karki became the first choice of Gen Z
Former Chief Justice of Nepal Sushila Karki has emerged as the main choice of Gen Z after more than 5,000 youth joined a virtual meeting organized to debate on the next Prime Minister of the country.
Karki started her career as a teacher before joining the judiciary. She took many bold decisions during her tenure. She took big and clear decisions, especially in cases involving political controversies and senior ministers.
Was part of the Constitution Drafting Committee
Karki was also part of the 2006 Constitution Drafting Committee. In 2009, she was appointed as an ad hoc judge in the Supreme Court of Nepal, and later became a permanent judge in 2010. In 2016, she served as Acting Chief Justice for some time before being formally appointed in July.
