Over 90,000 Indian students have received visas from the US this summer, a record number. One in four student visas worldwide were awarded to Indians this summer, from June to August, according to the US Mission.

The US had made appointments accessible for F1 student visas at all of its consulates in India, according to a previous Mint article from June, and the appointments were open from mid-July to mid-August. Indians received more US student visas than any other country last year, 125,000 in all, setting a record.

According to study abroad advisors, more Indian students than ever before will be studying abroad this autumn, according to the Economic Times. According to the research, this is due to a number of causes, such as increased desires for a foreign education and profession and a rise in applicants from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Piyush Kumar, regional director of South Asia and Mauritius for IDP Education, told ET about the number of Indian students coming to the US this autumn: "This year seems incredible; the percentage has increased, potentially more than pre-pandemic year." Approximately 25–30% of US enrollments have come from Tier 2 or Tier 3 cities.
