The US had made appointments accessible for F1 student visas at all of its consulates in India, according to a previous Mint article from June, and the appointments were open from mid-July to mid-August. Indians received more US student visas than any other country last year, 125,000 in all, setting a record.

The US Mission in India is pleased to inform that we issued a record amount of student visas this Summer/ in June, July, and August, according to a post on X by the US Embassy in India. This summer, India alone was the country where nearly one in four international student visas were given! Best wishes and congratulations to all the students who have decided to pursue their higher education ambitions in the United States! It's all done now! We made sure that all qualifying applicants arrived at their programmes on schedule by working as a team and being creative.

According to study abroad advisors, more Indian students than ever before will be studying abroad this autumn, according to the Economic Times. According to the research, this is due to a number of causes, such as increased desires for a foreign education and profession and a rise in applicants from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Piyush Kumar, regional director of South Asia and Mauritius for IDP Education, told ET about the number of Indian students coming to the US this autumn: "This year seems incredible; the percentage has increased, potentially more than pre-pandemic year." Approximately 25–30% of US enrollments have come from Tier 2 or Tier 3 cities.
