The water level of Yamuna in Delhi is gradually decreasing and there is hope of relief for the capital. Today water level of Yamuna River was recorded at 205.59 meters. The situation still remains challenging for the people living in low-lying areas. Relief camps have been set up in Mayur Vihar, where people living on the banks of Yamuna have been shifted.

However 51,857 cusecs of water has been released from Hathini Kund Barrage, 73,280 cusecs from Wazirabad Barrage. The risk of flood has reduced somewhat due to the reduction in water discharge and the fall in water level, but the crisis is not completely averted yet.

The situation in Mayur Vihar area is such that water has now reached the relief camps, due to which the people living here are in trouble. At the same time, the situation is more serious in the Monastery area. Boats have to be used to provide relief here. From the ghats to the residential settlements, there is water filled, due to which the daily life of the people has been badly affected.

Rescue operation continues in the flooded area

The pictures clearly show that despite the fall in the water level of Yamuna, the trouble has not ended. The work of evacuating people from the areas where water has filled and taking them to safe places is going on. The administration has intensified relief and rescue operations and has appealed to the people to be cautious and not pay attention to rumours.

Yamuna water is decreasing, but the danger is not over

Experts believe that if the water level continues to decrease, the situation may become normal in the next few days. However, the water level has not yet reached that level that the danger of flood can be considered completely over. At present, people in Delhi are facing the flood disaster and are hoping that Yamuna will soon start flowing below the danger level
