Yamuna Water Level: Due to the rain every day in Delhi, Yamuna is in spate. After continuous release of water from Hathinikund Barrage, the water level of Yamuna has crossed the warning level. According to the information, the water level of Yamuna river is increasing rapidly and can reach the danger level at any time. In fact, due to the rising water level of Yamuna river in Haryana, all 18 gates of Hathinikund Barrage have been opened. This has been done for the first time this season.
Flood threat in Delhi
In Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat, the water level of rivers and dams is continuously increasing due to rain. This is creating a flood situation. The water level of Yamuna is also continuously increasing in Delhi, due to which people of lower areas can be affected by floods.
All 18 gates of Haryana's Hathinikund Barrage have been opened, due to which 1.78 lakh cusecs of water is rapidly coming towards Delhi.
Due to torrential rains in the mountains, a huge amount of water has been released from Hathinikund Barrage in Haryana. Since then, the water level of Yamuna has increased in Delhi, which has increased the risk of floods in the lower areas.

The administration is evacuating people from here and sending them to relief camps. At the same time, Bhakra Dam is also close to the danger mark while Pong Dam is flowing above the danger mark.
Yamuna again above the danger mark
Meanwhile the water level of Yamuna has also crossed the warning level. Water is flowing above the danger mark on the old railway bridge. The water level is increasing rapidly due to the water being released from Wazirabad and Hathinikund barrage. Considering the situation serious, the administration has put all the departments related to flood control on alert. People living in low-lying areas have been advised to remain alert and move to safer places if needed.
Let us tell you that the water level of Yamuna at the Old Bridge is 204.5 meters, which is considered a warning level. At the same time, when the water level reaches 205.30 meters, it is considered above the danger mark. The water level of the old bridge is currently 205.15 meters. The water level in Delhi is expected to increase further in the next two days.
Yamuna reached above the danger mark in the year 2023
The water level of Yamuna in Delhi reached closest to the danger mark in the year 2023 when the water level of the river reached 208.66 meters on 11 July 2023. That year, about 3,59,760 cusecs of water was released from Hathinikund Barrage. That year there were chances of floods in many areas of Delhi. The water of Yamuna had risen in Mayur Vihar, due to which the people living there were living in relief camps set up by the administration. There was a danger of floods in many areas including Kashmiri Gate, Yamuna Bazaar, Monastery, Sarai Kale Khan and Old Delhi.
Bhakra Dam water level of Bhakra Dam is also close to the danger mark
It is raining continuously in the upper areas of Himachal Pradesh, due to which the flow of water in Bhakra Dam has increased. Currently, the water level of the dam has reached 1661.17 feet, while its danger mark is 1680 feet. According to experts, if the rain continues like this, the flood gates of Bhakra Dam can be opened at any time.

Heavy rain wreaks havoc in Gujarat too
About 50 to 60 people were trapped in a check dam due to heavy rains at Kashmiri Bapu's place located near Girnar hill in Junagadh, Gujarat, who have been rescued and safely taken out. At the same time, traffic has also been affected due to waterlogging on the Junagadh-Rajkot highway located at Jhanjharda Chowkdi.
