NSO: Consumer Price Index (CPI) measured at 5.02% for the month of September
According to information issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Thursday (October 12), India's retail inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 5.02 % for the month of September.

India's consumer price inflation rate in July 2023 was 7.44 %, while in August of that same year, it was 6.83 %.
While the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), a measure of industrial output, showed a 10.3% increase in August 2023. In August 2022, the Index of Industrial Production showed a 0.7% decline in factory output.
The information showed that in August 2023, the manufacturing sector's output climbed by 9.3 percent. During the month under review, mining production increased by 12.3%.
In August 2023, power output increased by 15.3 %. Compared to the same time in 2022–2023, when the IIP expanded by 7.7 percent, it did so by 6.1 percent in April–August of 2023.
The expected CPI was predicted to be 5.5 percent according to the CNBC-TV18 Poll of economists, and the August IIP was predicted to be 9.5 percent.
