Omar Abdullah's oath taking ceremony as the new CM will be held today at 11.30 am at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC) in Srinagar. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers joining Abdullah cabinet along with him.
NC alone has the support of 48 MLAs. Out of the 7 independent MLAs who won the election, 4 had announced support to NC on 10 October. These four independents are - Pyarelal Sharma from Inderwal, Satish Sharma from Chhamb, Mohammad Akram from Surankot and Dr. Rameshwar Singh from Bani seat.
Will Congress get only one ministerial post?
Nine ministers are likely to take oath with him.Congress can get one minister and the post of Deputy Speaker. The names of state president Tariq Hameed Karra and general secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir are being considered for the post of minister.
Meanwhile Congress has appointed Mir as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party on October 15 itself, so his chances of becoming a minister are less. At the same time, Nizamuddin Bhat can be made the Deputy Speaker.
An independent MLA can also be made a minister. This can be done to give adequate representation to the Jammu region in the government. At the same time, seven ministers can be made from the National Conference. Under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, the total number of ministers including the CM cannot exceed 10% of the assembly seats.
Who all will be included in the oath taking ceremony?
Leader of Opposition in Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi may attend the swearing-in ceremony. Apart from this, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav will also participate in the program, for which he has reached Srinagar.
At the same time, 50 leaders including West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, CPI (M) leader Prakash Karat and CPI leader D Raja have been invited for the coronation of Omar Abdullah as CM.

Elected government will be formed after 10 years
In the assembly elections held in Jammu and Kashmir in September-October, the National Conference emerged as the largest party. The party alone won 42 seats. At the same time, Congress won six seats. The alliance easily crossed the majority mark. At the same time, BJP won 29 seats in these elections.
Omar Abdullah will hold a meeting with the Administrative Secretary at 3:00 pm.
