On Sardar Patel's birth anniversary, the Prime Minister attended an outrageous stunts event organized by the CRPF's female personnel at the Statue of Unity near Kevadia in Gujarat. Notably, the central force is based on the visions of Sardar Patel, who is also regarded as the CRPF's founder.

At the event, artists from villages near the border between China and India performed as well.

President and other ministers paid tribute in New Delhi

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to Sardar Patel's statue in New Delhi's Patel Chowk.

The birth anniversary is celebrated as 'Rashtriya Ekta Divas,' which is marked by a 'Run for Unity' rally flagged off by Shah from the national capital's Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. A Unity oath was administered after the flagging off.

Amit Shah recalled Sardar Patel's contribution to national unity and stated that the country's first Home Minister is the reason for a united India. During his speech, Shah mentioned how Sardar Patel worked to unite all the principalities the British had divided at the time of India's independence.

What is 'Rashtriya Ekta Divas?

This day honors Patel's contributions to maintaining India's unity and celebrates the nation's unity. The Indian government decided in 2014 to mark October 31st of each year as "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas," or National Unity Day, in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This day is celebrates with the hope that this occasion will offer an opportunity to reiterate our country's innate strength and ability to withstand threats to its security, integrity, and unity, both present and future.
