On October 17, Mumbai International Airport's runways will be closed for repairs
On October 17, both runways at Mumbai Airport are scheduled for a brief closure lasting six hours owing to necessary maintenance. Flight operations will be halted during this time.

According to a statement issued by the airport operator on Friday, the repair tasks for both runways are planned to take place from 11 am to 5 pm.
Six months in advance, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was published informing airlines and other interested parties of the planned shutdown.
This brief shutdown fits with the yearly post-monsoon preventive maintenance schedule for CSMIA.
After Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, Mumbai Airport is the second busiest airport in India. It has two intersecting runways: 09/27 (the principal runway) and 14/32 (the secondary runway).

There won't be any cancellations; the airport said CNBC-TV18, because the airlines were previously made aware of this in advance.
Unrelated to this incident, a VSR Ventures-operated Learjet 45 with the registration VT-DBL went off the runway while attempting to land at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on September 14.
Six passengers and two staff members were on board the aeroplane when the event occurred, which happened when it was flying from Vizag to Mumbai.
