On October 10, the Minister of External affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar took to twitter to give the information that India has launched Operation Ajay to evacuate Indians who are stuck in Israel. He wrote that special flights are arranged for Indian nationals who want to return from the country.

He said "Launching #OperationAjay to facilitate the return from Israel of our citizens who wish to return. Special charter flights and other arrangements being put in place. Fully committed to the safety and well-being of our nationals abroad."

This operation is not an evacuation operation but rather an operation to repatriate its citizens from the country.

Helpline

The ministry of external affairs has also set up a 25-hour dedicated control room to monitor the ongoing situation in Israel- Palestine. The situation does not seem to de-escalate and therefore the ministry has set up the control room to provide assistance and information to the people in need. The ministry has provided certain helpline number  and other contact information for the same- 1800118797 (Toll free), 91-11 23012113, 91-11-23014104, 91-11-23017905, 919968291988, situationroom@mea.gov.in.

Indian embassy in Tel Aviv has also set up a 24 hour emergency helpline. The contact details 972-35226748, 972-543278392, cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in .

In Palestine

The ministry has also set up a emergency representative office in Ramallah, Palestine, which can be accessed 24 hours a day. The contact details are 970-592916418 (also whatsapp), rep.ramallah@mea.gov.in.

Previously the ministry also issued a public notice regarding emergency helpline contact information on October 11 for Indian citizens who are stuck in Palestine saying  " In light of the prevailing security situation, Indian nationals in Palestine can directly contact the Representative Office of India to address any case of emergency or needed assistance on the 24-hour Emergency Helpline: Jawwal: 0592-916418, WhatsApp: 970-59291641,"

Arindam Bagchi, Spokesperson of MEA retweeted the tweet of Indian Embassy in Israel which read " The Embassy has emailed the first lot of registered Indian citizens for the special flight tomorrow. Messages to other registered people will follow for subsequent flights."

The embassy has been constantly working to help Indian citizens as the situation has been constantly tense.
