Owaisi targets Akhilesh; Lucknow: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, accusing him of exploiting Muslims under the guise of participation while denying them opportunities for progress and dignity.

Samajwadi continuously fooling Muslims

In a recent statement to ANI, Owaisi criticized Yadav's political maneuvers, alleging, "In the name of PDA, Akhilesh Yadav has been continuously fooling the Muslims and he wants the Muslims to just keep selling carpets and shouting slogans for them." He pointed out an incident where Yadav purportedly revoked the ticket of a senior political leader in Moradabad, emphasizing Yadav's rhetoric of Muslim participation without substantial action.

Formation of PDM Alliance

Owaisi announced the formation of the "PDM" (Pichda, Dalit Musalman) alliance in Uttar Pradesh, asserting that it marks a significant step towards achieving social justice in the region. The alliance aims to address the concerns of marginalized communities, including Dalits and Muslims, and ensure their representation in political spheres.

Delay Acknowledged, Determination to Forge Ahead

While acknowledging a delay in announcing the alliance, Owaisi expressed determination to proceed with full strength into the upcoming elections. The alliance, comprising AIMIM, Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party led by Premchand Bind, and Rashtriya Uday Party, is poised to contest both Parliamentary and Legislative Assembly elections.

Election Dynamics in Uttar Pradesh

The political landscape in Uttar Pradesh has witnessed shifts with alliances forming and dissolving in the lead-up to the elections. The announcement of the PDM alliance comes amidst the Samajwadi Party's decision to sever ties with Apna Dal (Kameravadi) due to ongoing differences.

With Uttar Pradesh being a crucial state sending 80 MPs to Parliament, the upcoming elections will be conducted in seven phases, beginning on April 19 and culminating on June 1, with results scheduled to be declared on June 4.
