Counter-Terrorism Pakistan: In a significant move towards enhancing national security, Pakistan's security forces executed over 18,000 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in 2023. This dedicated effort resulted in the elimination of 566 terrorists and the apprehension of 5,161 others, contributing to the ongoing mission of maintaining peace and security within the country.

Effective Anti-Terrorism Measures

According to recent data reported by ARY News, the security forces' effective anti-terrorism measures were crucial for national defense and security amid the prevailing unrest. These measures aimed to counteract and neutralize potential threats to peace.

Linkages to Afghanistan and National Reconciliation

The data underscored the connection between recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan and terrorist sanctuaries in Afghanistan. This information sheds light on the challenges posed by external elements to Pakistan's security landscape. Despite these challenges, the effective operations led to positive outcomes, as key commanders, Gulzar Imam Shambe and Sarfaraz Bengalzai of the Baloch National Army (BNA), chose to abandon terrorism and rejoin the national mainstream.

In the province of Balochistan, 15,063 intelligence-based operations were conducted, resulting in the death of 109 terrorists. Similarly, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 1,942 operations were carried out, leading to the elimination of 447 terrorists. The security forces were also active in other regions, conducting 190 operations in Punjab, 14 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 1,987 in Sindh, where 10 terrorists were neutralized.

Commitment to Ongoing Counter-Terrorism Efforts

Despite the challenges and sacrifices, the security forces remain committed to their mission. More than 1,000 individuals, including over 260 officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army, lost their lives in the line of duty due to terrorist attacks. The dedication to making Pakistan a cradle of peace is evident, with a hopeful outlook for a future marked by stability and harmony.

Continued Pledge Against Terrorism

A statement emphasized that the Pakistan forces will persist in the war against terrorism with unwavering support from the people until the last terrorist threat is eradicated. This resolute commitment reflects the determination to build a safer and more secure Pakistan.
