Father of Pankaj Tripathi, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, Dies at the Age of 99
Celebrated actor Pankaj Tripathi is in a state of mourning following the demise of his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, who peacefully passed away at the age of 99 on Monday.
Pankaj Tripathi and his family members confirmed the sad news of his father's demise.
In an official announcement, the family conveyed, "With profound sadness, we confirm the departure of Pankaj Tripathi's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari. He lived a rich life spanning 99 years. His final rites will be conducted today in the presence of close family members. Pankaj Tripathi is currently en route to his village in Gopalganj."
Pandit Banaras Tiwari, a farmer who also served as a priest, shared a close bond with his actor son.
Upon learning of his father's passing, Pankaj Tripathi departed for his hometown, Gopalganj in Bihar.
In terms of his professional commitments, Tripathi's recent release, "OMG 2," starring Akshay Kumar, has garnered positive feedback from audiences.
Up next, he is set to portray former Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the biopic "Main Atal Hoon." On the occasion of Vajpayee's birth anniversary, Tripathi unveiled his first look as the ex-PM from the upcoming film.
