IndiGo Flight Makes Unscheduled Landing in Nagpur as Passenger Suffers Fatal Medical Emergency

A Mumbai-Ranchi IndiGo flight had an unplanned landing at Nagpur's Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport due to a passenger's critical medical condition. The passenger, D Tiwari, aged 62, was declared dead on arrival at a government medical college. The passenger had pre-existing conditions of CKD and tuberculosis and had vomited blood during the flight. According to Aejaz Shami from KIMS Hospital in Nagpur, the passenger was already deceased upon reaching the hospital.

IndiGo Airlines confirmed the diversion due to a medical emergency and expressed condolences to the passenger's family. This incident follows another tragedy involving an IndiGo pilot who collapsed and died in Nagpur shortly before his scheduled flight.

The pilot, Captain Manoj Subramanyam, was to operate a Nagpur-Pune flight, but he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and couldn't be revived despite CPR efforts. These incidents highlight the unpredictable nature of health emergencies, even in aviation settings.
