Hundreds of people arrived to pay their last respects to the martyrs of Anantnag.

On 13 September, during encounter operation of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag District, Major Aashish Dhonchak of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles (19 RR), Colonel Manpreet Singh (41), commanding officer of the 19 RR and J&K Police Deputy SP Himayun Bhat lost their lives while fighting terrorist in Kashmir's Anantnag.

The whole nation is mourning for the loss of 3 brave hearts of the country who lost their lives fighting terrorist. Tributes are pouring for the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. He left behind his wife, two and a half year old daughter, three sisters and parents. and wife, two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, parents and his three sisters

On 14 September the mortal remains of Major Aashish Dhonchak were brought in Panipat's Binjhol, at his home. Streets filled with people payed their respects to the brave hearts. People were present there get a glimpse of the brave soldier who lost his life and to honor his sacrifice.

On the morning of 15th September, the mortals remains of Col Manpreet Singh were brought to his native village Mullanpur Garibdass, Punjab. The public showed the same affection and honor as they did with Major Aashish Dhonchak.  A sea of people were present to pay tribute to the army soldier who lost his life fighting terrorists. Colonel left behind his wife, mother, six year old son and two year old daughter. '

On September 13, the mortal remains of Deputy SP of J&K Police Himayun Bhat reached his residence in Budgam in Kashmir his father who was a former police officer Ghulam Hassan Bhatt, laid wreath for his son in the official tribute ceremony. A large number of people gathered at the last rites of Himayun Bhatt on 13 September to pay their respect. Himayun Bhat was recently married one and half year ago and had a two month old daughter. According to reports his last words to wife on Video call were "I may not be able to survive, take care of the child".

Kokernag Town in Jammu & Kashmir observed a total shut down to protest against Pak sponsored terrorism and pay tribute to the martyrs.

Jammu also saw protests against Pakistan where people burnt photos of the Flag Of Pakistan and raise slogan against Pakistan.
