PM Modi Launches India’s First Vande Metro, Renamed as Namo Bharat Rapid Rail
On September 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India's first Vande Metro, now renamed the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. This new train service will operate between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. Along with this, the Prime Minister also flagged off several other Vande Bharat trains on different routes across the country.
Key Details of the Bhuj-Ahmedabad Namo Bharat Rapid Rail
Route and Speed
The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Bhuj and Ahmedabad covers a distance of 360 kilometers. It stops at nine stations and completes the journey in 5 hours and 45 minutes, with a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour.
Train Schedule
The service is available every day except Sunday. Train No. 94802 departs from Bhuj at 5:05 AM and arrives in Ahmedabad by 10:50 AM on the same day.
Stations on the Route
The train halts at the following stations: Sabarmati, Chandiodiya, Viramgam, Dhrangadhra, Halvad, Samakhiali, Bhachau, Gandhidham, and Anjar.

Features and Capacity
According to the Railway Ministry, the rapid rail has 12 coaches with seating for 1,150 passengers. It boasts several modern features such as ergonomically designed seats, fully air-conditioned cabins, and modular interiors, making it a superior travel option compared to other metros.
This new service marks a significant step towards improving rail connectivity and enhancing passenger comfort in India.
