PM Modi unveils and Initiates projects worth Rs 11,599 Crore in Guwahati
PM Modi marked a significant day for Guwahati as he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various projects amounting to Rs 11,599 crore. The unveiled projects aim to enhance connectivity, generate employment opportunities, and promote sports in the region.

Boosting Connectivity and Employment
Inaugurating the projects, PM Modi highlighted their role in enhancing regional connectivity, providing employment opportunities for locals, and encouraging sports activities. The development initiatives are poised to have a positive impact on the overall growth and development of the region.
Assam Chief Minister Commends PM Modi's Leadership
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended PM Modi's efforts in promoting infrastructure development in the Northeast. He credited the Prime Minister for bringing unprecedented peace and prosperity to Assam, leading to the surrender of many youths involved in militancy and extremism. Sarma also highlighted the construction of nine bridges over the Brahmaputra River, attributing these achievements to PM Modi's visionary guidance.
Key Projects Unveiled
Among the prominent projects initiated by the Prime Minister is the Maa Kamakhya Divya Pariyojana (Maa Kamakhya Access Corridor) under the PM-DevINE scheme. Aimed at providing world-class amenities to pilgrims visiting the Kamakhya temple, this project holds strategic significance.
PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for road upgradation projects worth over Rs 3400 crore, targeting the improvement of 43 roads, including 38 bridges, as part of the South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) Corridor Connectivity.
Infrastructure Development and Medical Facilities
The Prime Minister inaugurated two 4-laning projects, Dolabari to Jamuguri and Biswanath Chariali to Gohpur, contributing to better connectivity to Itanagar and fostering economic development.
Acknowledging the sports potential in the region, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for sports infrastructure projects, including an international standards sports stadium in Chandrapur and the upgradation of Nehru stadium to a FIFA standard football stadium.
In addition, PM Modi initiated the development of infrastructure at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and the establishment of a medical college in Karimganj, emphasizing the commitment to healthcare facilities in the state.

Before the project launches, Prime Minister Modi conducted a vibrant roadshow in the capital of Assam, with enthusiastic crowds lining the streets, chanting his name. The roadshow served as a precursor to the impactful development initiatives that are set to transform and elevate Guwahati's landscape.
