Puja at Kothandaramaswamy Temple
PM Modi, a devotee of Lord Ram, performed puja at the Kothandaramaswamy Temple, whose name translates to "Rama with the bow." The temple, located in Dhanushkodi, holds significance in Hindu mythology as the place where Vibhishana, Ravana's brother, sought refuge from Lord Ram.
Historical Significance
According to legends, this sacred site was where Lord Ram met Vibhishana and later conducted his coronation. Dhanushkodi is also believed to be the location where Lord Ram vowed to defeat Ravana and set out to Lanka.
Visit to Arichal Munai
Earlier in the day, PM Modi visited Arichal Munai in Dhanushkodi, considered the point where the Ram Setu, a legendary bridge, was built. He was seen offering a floral tribute at this significant location.
