Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Poland in the first phase of his two-nation visit. This the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in the last 45 years. The PM Modi was given a warm welcome at Warsaw Airport. He will visit  Poland on 21 and 22 August and after that he will go to Kiev, the capital of war-torn Ukraine, on August 23, However his  visit to Poland is taking place when both the countries are completing 70 years of their diplomatic relations.

PM Modi schedule in Poland

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal post on x That Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has reached Warsaw. This visit is also special as it is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and India. This visit is also historic as an Indian Prime Minister is visiting Poland after 45 years. He will soon visit three monuments, paying homage at the Good Maharaja Memorial... The history behind these monuments connects Poland and India in a very special way. Tomorrow, he will have bilateral meetings with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He will also meet Polish President Andrzej Duda and after that he will meet business leaders of Poland for strengthen India-Poland trade relations. The NRIs also arrived to welcome PM Modi in Warsaw. PM Modi was  interacting with the children of the NRI community.

PMO gave information about the visit

 The Prime Minister's Office has issued a letter, regarding this  the Prime Minister was quoted as saying, "My visit to Poland is taking place at a time when we are completing 70 years of our diplomatic relations. Poland is a major economic partner in Central Europe. Our mutual commitment to democracy and pluralism further strengthens our relationship. I look forward to meeting my friend Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to take the partnership forward."

PM Modi visit Ukraine on invitation by Zelensky

 Prime Minister visit to Ukraine has also mentioned in the letter. The PMO said that Prime Minister Modi is visiting Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine. After concluding his visit to Poland, Prime Minister Modi will go to the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. This visit will likely promote continued engagement between India and Ukraine and will lay the foundation for stronger and vibrant relations between the two countries.

What PM Modi said on Ukraine visit

Before leaving for the visit, Prime Minister Modi informed about his visit to Ukraine on his social media platform X, saying, "I will visit Ukraine at the invitation of President Zelensky. This visit will be an opportunity to take forward earlier discussions with him and deepen India-Ukraine friendship. We will also share perspectives on a peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine conflict. As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability in the region."

A statement from the Ministry of External Affairs informed that during the Prime Minister's meeting in Kiev, many aspects of bilateral relations, including political, trade, economic, investment, education, cultural, people-to-people exchanged India has emphasized on adopting the medium of dialogue and diplomacy for a peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Prime Minister Modi met the Ukrainian President on June 14 on the sidelines of the 50th G7 Summit in Apulia, Italy
