PNG, CNG to get cheaper! know the live updates about Gujarat Budget

<p>The Gujarat government on Friday presented a Rs 3.01 lakh crore Budget for the financial year 2023-24, up 23 percent as against last year. Gujarat Finance Minister Kanu Desai announced that over the next five years, the state would spend Rs 5 lakh crore for the development of infrastructural facilities. The Gujarat government on Friday presented a Rs 3.01 lakh crore Budget for the financial year 2023-24, up 23 percent as against last year. Gujarat Finance Minister Kanu Desai announced that over the next five years, the state would spend Rs 5 lakh crore for the development of infrastructural facilities. This is the state’s first budget following the December 2022 Assembly elections.


There will be no increase or introduction of new Taxes for this financial year, In a major relief for consumers, Piped Natural Gas PNG and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) are set to get cheaper in the state. The finance minister has slashed the Value Added Tax (VAT) on PNG and CNG to 5 percent from 15 percent. State’s finance minister has allotted Rs 500 crore for free refilling of free LPG cylinders twice a year 39 lakh families under Ujwala Yojana. 

Also, In the state budget for 2023-23, FM Desai has made a provision of Rs 200 crore which covers equity contribution to Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Project under the PM Gati Shakti Plan. For Ahmedabad Metro Phase-II, the government has allocated Rs 18,000 crore.
