All contract workers of Delhi Women's Commission were dismissed with immediate effect
Delhi: The contract workers of Delhi Women's Commission have been dismissed. After the approval of Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, this order has been issued in month of April, by the order of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
Meanwhile Gautam Majumdar, Assistant Secretary of Delhi Women's Commission, has issued an order to dismiss all contract employees.
Dismissal of contract employee of Women's Commission
All though the controversy has been going on for a long time over the recruitment of contract workers of the Women's Commission. Earlier, LG of Delhi ordered the removal of 223 employees from Delhi Women's Commission in May with immediate effect.
It was alleged that Swati Maliwal, the then chairman of the Delhi Women's Commission, went against the rules and appointed these employees without permission.

Let me tell you that on April 29, 2024, the controversy arose after expelling the contract workers from the job. It was said in this order that the creation of 230 posts in DCWD is illegal and all contract employees should be fired.
On this, former woman president Swati Maliwal accused LG of closing the Commission. Maliwal had said that we will take to the streets against LG's decision.

However, it was said that currently 90 women work in DCW, 8 of them are permanent employees. If this order is issued, 82 people will be removed. After this, it will be difficult to do the work of Delhi Women's Commission.
Thousands of calls come daily on the helpline number of DCW. 500 women themselves come and file a complaint.
