PM Modi's first rally for the assembly elections in Maharashtra is today. The Prime Minister will address the people in Dhule at 12 noon. Then there will be a public meeting in Nashik at 2 pm.

While elections will be held in one phase on November 20 in 288 seats of Maharashtra. The result will come on November 23. BJP is contesting the elections with the Mahayuti alliance. BJP has fielded 148 candidates, Shinde faction 80, Ajit faction 53.

The PM Modi really in Maharashtra

Though BJP is contesting fewer seats compared to 2019, however BJP is contesting fewer seats this time compared to the 2019 assembly elections. Last time BJP had fielded its candidates on 164 seats. This time 16 fewer candidates have been fielded.

At the same time, Shiv Sena-Shinde contested for 80, NCP-Ajit contested for 53. This is the first assembly election after the rebellion in the party. In the last election, Shiv Sena (undivided) and NCP (undivided) contested on 124-124 seats. Apart from all this, this time Mahayuti has left 5 seats for the allies.

Who will be the next Chief Minister?

In the meanwhile, decision on CM name will be taken after the assembly election on being seen as the next Chief Minister of the Sate, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had said about a week ago that if people are seeing him as the Chief Minister, then it is not a problem, it is a solution. But this does not mean that he is going to become CM.

Shiv Sena chief CM Eknath Shinde, NCP chief Ajit Pawar and BJP's parliamentary board will decide who will be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Mahayuti is not confused, main problem is in Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA). The question of face is for them, not for the Mahayuti. MVA is not announcing the face of the Chief Minister because they know that their CM can come after the elections

In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP got reduced from 23 to 9 seats. In the Lok Sabha elections, out of 48 seats in Maharashtra, INDIA alliance got 30 and NDA got 17 seats. In these, BJP got 9, Shiv Sena got 7 and NCP got only 1 seat. BJP lost 23 seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, NDA got 41 seats while in 2014 it got 42 seats.

BJP bad performance in Lok Sabha elections

Estimation of loss to BJP according to Lok Sabha elections If the trend of Lok Sabha elections remains in Maharashtra assembly elections too, then BJP will suffer losses. BJP will be reduced to around 60 seats. At the same time, in the survey of the opposition alliance, MVA has been estimated to get 160 seats. Apart from this, people have sympathy with Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar after the rift in Shiv Sena and NCP.

2019 - Assembly Elections of Maharashtra

In 2019, there was a BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. NCP got 54 and Congress got 44 seats from the alliance.

Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister. However, both resigned on 26 November before the majority test.

Mahavikas Aghadi of Shiv Sena (undivided), NCP (undivided) and Congress came to power.

There was a split in Shiv Sena (undivided) and NCP (undivided) and these two parties got divided into four factions. Still, Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray benefited in the Lok Sabha elections. Now the assembly elections are also being held on this background.
