Atishi even changed her father...", Ramesh Bidhuri's tongue slipped again

The BJP candidate from Kalkaji assembly seat Ramesh Bidhuri on Sunday created another controversy by commenting on the surname of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s 'Parivartan Rally' in Rohini, Bidhuri said that Atishi has changed her surname from 'Marlena' to 'Singh'. Atishi, the current MLA from Kalkaji seat, had removed her surname some time ago.

Ramesh Bidhuri alleged, "She became Singh from Marlena (the surname used by Atishi earlier), she changed her name. Kejriwal had sworn on his children that he will not go with the corrupt Congress, (and now) Marlena has changed her father. First She was Marlena, now she has become Singh. This is her character.''

Bidhuri has been in controversies earlier also over his statements. Recently, he had to face criticism for making indecent remarks against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. After the video of Bidhuri's speech surfaced on the Internet, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal targeted the BJP and said that its leaders have crossed all limits of "shamelessness". Even though AAP chief wrote a post on 'X', " Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are abusing Chief Minister of Delhi Atishi.

The people of Delhi will not tolerate the insult of a woman Chief minister. All the women of Delhi will take revenge for this." 'AAP' said in a statement that Bidhuri's "insulting remarks" against a woman Chief minister have exposed the BJP's "anti-women" mindset. The ruling party in Delhi said, "If he behaves like this now, imagine how common women will be treated if he accidentally becomes an MLA." The AAP said the people of Delhi will teach the BJP and Ramesh Bidhuri a lesson by defeating them.
