Compulsion to take U-Turn is pushing us towards death... Is Jaipur fire, result of government negligence?
This accident in Jaipur can also be called manmade. Of course, this accident is the negligence of the drivers, but on the highway where thousands of vehicles pass every hour, the governments have been committing serious and deadly negligence for the last 6-7 years. About 10 km before Jaipur, a truck loaded with chemicals hit an LPG tanker taking a U-turn.
The road accident that took place near a petrol pump in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is soul-stirring. It has come to light that in this explosion and fire, more than 40 vehicles caught fire one by one.
According to the information received so far, 11 people have died in this accident and many people have been severely burnt. Accident happened due to taking a U-turn.
11 people have died in this accident
About 10 km before Jaipur, a truck loaded with chemicals hit an LPG tanker taking a U-turn. Gas started coming out of the nozzle behind the LPG tanker and in 10 seconds the petrol vehicles became a ball of fire. Where this accident happened, the tanker coming from Ajmer direction and going towards Jaipur was taking a U-turn and turning back towards Ajmer because this LPG tanker had to go towards Agra Road by climbing the ring road after a little distance.
There is a problem on Delhi Ajmer Highway
Here the compulsion to take a U-turn on National Highway-8. Delhi Ajmer Highway is the result of the negligence of the governments. The ring road was built in 2016 during the Vasundhara government and was inaugurated in the end of 2018.
The work was incomplete, so traffic started after the Gehlot government came to power in March 2019, but the Gehlot government also did not make clover leaves to climb on it, so that the traffic coming from Ajmer would turn around and climb on the ring from the other side.
Governments changed but the system did not change
Since then, only pillars are standing for the clover leaves of the ring road. Now the government has also changed. There is a Bhajan Lal government in Rajasthan, but the work is still not complete. Whoever has to go to Agra-Kota takes a U-turn from here to get on the ring road, due to which accidents happen every day, but a big accident happened on Friday.
Now in the meantime, the Mumbai Delhi Expressway has also been built. This ring road connects the Mumbai Delhi Expressway to the National Highway-8 where the accident taken place. Suddenly the traffic increased on this U-turn, so after eight years, work on the clover leaves started again last month, but by then an accident happened.
Work has been started afresh
In this way, this accident has happened due to the failure of the governments. One is forced to take a U-turn on the highway and go to Mumbai-Delhi Highway, Agra and Tonk Highway. The work of clover leaf started in 2018, when the company (Sona Builds and Bharti Spun Company) which got the tender for clover leaf, the bank got corrupted and ran away leaving the work four years ago. Now NHAI has done fresh bidding and started the work this month for Rs 107 crore, which will be completed in 2026.
