Due to this political parties have started revealing the list of names of their candidates. Now the Congress party is going to hold a very important meeting today, for the Maharashtra assembly elections.

Congress party is going to hold a very important meeting today for the Maharashtra assembly elections. In which all the big faces of Congress are expected to attend the meeting.

While Congress CEC will meet at the AICC headquarters in Delhi at 4:30 pm today to select candidates for Maharashtra elections.

Congress released its first list of 48 candidates

Although Congress has announced its first list for the Maharashtra assembly elections on Thursday. In which the names of a total of 48 candidates are registered. However, names of 4 seats of Nagpur city have also been included in this list of candidates for 48 seats.

Mahayuti held meeting on Thursday

Earlier on Thursday, an important meeting was held in Delhi between Home Minister Amit Shah and the leaders of the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance regarding preparations for the state elections. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar as well as leaders like Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare attended the meeting.

Meanwhile three parties had already released the initial list of their candidates, but 106 seats were not announced. Of these, 20 to 25 seats were controversial, which were claimed by the three parties. The purpose of the meeting was to resolve these disputes.

According to sources, the constituents of the Mahayuti will exchange some seats to resolve the seat allocation issues. The BJP is expected to leave some seats for the NCP, while Eknath Shinde will also leave some seats that the Shiv Sena contested in 2019.

While meeting with Amit Shah led to a consensus on most seats, though some remain undecided. It was concluded that the decision on these remaining seats will be based on which party is most likely to win, with leaders of the three parties scheduled to meet in Mumbai to finalise the arrangements.

Polling on November 20

Meanwhile, ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shinde Sena faction leader Sanjay Nirupam launched a scathing attack on Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena, mocking it for struggling to secure seats in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance.

Assembly elections in Maharashtra are scheduled to be held on November 20, while the counting of votes for all 288 constituencies will take place on November 23.

As the polling date inches closer, the ruling Mahayuti alliance -- comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and Ajit Pawar-led NCP -- and the opposition MVA have stepped up their preparations.
