Amidst preparations for the Jharkhand assembly elections, the Congress party today released its election manifesto in Ranchi, which was presented in the name of "Saat Vaade- Pakke Irada". In this manifesto, the party has made many major promises for the development of the state and various sections of the society.

These include announcements on many important issues ranging from tribal rights to economic, educational, and social welfare.

Congress promises and announcements

Protection of tribal rights

Congress party has expressed its commitment to implement the locality policy on the basis of the 1932 Khatian, implement the Sarna tribal religion code and preserve the regional language.

Human rights and respect schemes

The party has announced to give honorarium of Rs 2500 to every family under the "Mainya Samman Yojana" from December 2024. 3. Promises for economic empowerment

The Congress has pledged to protect the interests of STs (28%), SCs (12%), OBCs (27%) and minorities in the state.

Special schemes for the poor

The party has planned to set up degree colleges, engineering and medical colleges and universities in every block of the state. Also, under the industrial policy, it has been announced to build industrial parks of 500 acres in every district.

Reforms in the agriculture sector

Even though Congress has proposed to increase the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy to Rs 3200 per quintal and a 50 percent increase in the MSP of other agricultural products.

Free electricity for the poor

The poor families of the state will be given free electricity from 200 units to 250 units, apart from this, free electricity will also be supplied for agricultural work.

Caste census and special steps for SC category

The Congress has proposed to conduct caste census in the state and increase the limit of "creamy layer" to Rs 10 lakh. Also, it has promised to give SC status again to those SC community people who were listed in undivided Bihar.

Protection of tribal languages

 Although Congress has resolved to send a proposal to the Central Government to include tribal languages ​​such as "Ho", "Gundaari", "Kharia", "Kudukh" and "Kudmali" in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

Empowerment of self-governance system

The Congress has also talked about implementing the traditional self-governance system of the tribals in its manifesto.

Improvement in education and sports

However, Congress party has planned to establish English medium excellent schools in every block to improve the level of education and to arrange training in schools to promote sports.
