Bihar Flood: Rising water level of Ganga & Kosi rivers in Bihar, due to there is a threat of flood in many areas of the state. Meanwhile thirteen districts are badly affected because of rising water in Ganga, on the other hand, due to the huge increase in the water level in Kosi river, there is a possibility of North Bihar and Seemanchal getting submerged.

Ganga and Kosi rivers water level is increased

Flood situation in Bihar, due to havoc rain in Nepal since Thursday, maximum water released from Kosi Barrage after 1968. Due to this, alert has been issued in 13 districts in view of this flood crisis, meanwhile the state government as well as the central government has become alert. However the Bihar government said, that 6,61,295 cusecs of water has been released from Kosi Barrage Veerpur (Nepal) at 5 am on Sunday.

The Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai will hold a review meeting with NDRF today. In view of the flood threat, NDRF has been kept on alert. At the same time, the state government has also instructed the officials to remain on alert mode and take appropriate measures. Meanwhile the People living on the river bank have been asked to go to a safe place. In view of the danger of erosion, many areas are being evacuated

Never seen so much water in 50 years'

After 50 years, so much water is being seen in the Kosi river which can submerge many districts of North Bihar. There is an outcry among the people about this. Local people at ground zero told that after about 55 years they have seen so much water in the Kosi river.

People in fear a flood like 2008

When the Kusha dam broke in 2008, people say that two to three lakh cusecs of water was released and that broke the dam. This time, after continuous rains in Nepal, more than 5.5 lakh cusecs of water has been released from Kosi Barrage and the situation is very serious. Regarding this, a senior official said that the Bihar government has issued a flood warning in the overflowing Kosi, Gandak and Ganga rivers in the northern and central parts of the state.

122 dead in Nepal, many people missing

Floods caused by continuous rains, many parts of Nepal have been submerged due to heavy rains since Friday, due to which disaster management officials have had to issue a flash flood warning. The effect of this devastation in Nepal is also being seen in Bihar.

Alert has been declared in 13 districts in view of the possibility of flood after water was released from Kosi and Gandak Barrage. Flood water has spread in many low-lying areas. However the Bagmati river in Shivhar is flowing two meters above the danger mark. Apart from this, rain warning has been issued in many districts of North Bihar.
