Dalits: Taking a lesson from the results of the Lok Sabha elections, BJP also organized caste conventions to bring Dalit voters to its side. BJP leaders attacked Congress by making the casteist remark against Kumari Selja an issue and it benefited them with a gain of three seats.
Micro planning: BJP identified close contest seats and did micro level planning for them. As a part of the strategy, more emphasis was given on door-to-door campaigns than mass rallies.
OBC: CM Saini's government launched several schemes for OBCs as soon as it came to power. In its Sankalp Patra too, the party made several promises to OBCs, from scholarships to loans without guarantee, and kept them attached to itself against the Jats.
Plethora of candidates: BJP saw a path to victory being prepared with a crowd of candidates, there is also a discussion that the party indirectly fielded many candidates. Due to such candidates, anti-BJP votes got divided and Congress was kept away from victory.
