Horrific accident in Almora, Uttarakhand, 36 people are dead, CM announces compensation
Almora Accident: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a magistrate inquiry into the Almora bus accident. So far 36 people have been confirmed dead and 20 injured in this accident
In the meanwhile, the state administration confirmed the death of 36 people in the Almora Road accident. While three people have been sent to AIIMS for treatment. Though the injured are being treated at Ramnagar Government Hospital.
Bus falls into ditch
Kumaon Divisional Commissioner Deepak Kumar said that so far 36 people have died. Instructions have been given to give compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the injured. A team of doctors from AIIMS will come to Ramnagar. Along with SDRF, NDRF team has also reached the spot. Rescue and relief work has been started
40 passengers were on the bus
The District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey said that the bus was going from Garhwal to Kumaon when the accident happened in Marchula, Almora. So far seven people have been reported dead. The number of casualties may increase as there were about 40 passengers on the bus when it fell into a 200-meter-deep gorge.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief
Although Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed his grief over the bus accident. CM spoke to the Secretary Disaster Management, Commissioner Kumaon Division and DM Almora over the phone. Inquired about the incident and gave instructions to expedite the rescue and relief work.
