Jharkhand Assembly Election: Voting continues for 43 seats in Jharkhand, 13.4% voting till 9 am

Voting being held on 43 seats in 15 districts, the main contest is between BJP and Congress-JMM alliance.

Jharkhand Assembly Election: While first phase of voting for the assembly elections is being held in Jharkhand today. Though voting being held on 43 seats in 15 districts, the main contest is between BJP and Congress-JMM alliance.

This election will decide whether JMM will come to power again in Jharkhand or BJP will waive its flag.

While the next phase of elections on 30 seats is to be held on November 20. The 43 seats on which voting is taking place include 17 general, 20 ST and 6 SC seats. A total of 29562 polling booths have been set up at 20,281 places for voting.

First phase of voting in Jharkhand

Today, in the first phase, 683 candidates are trying their luck, including 609 men, 73 women and one third gender.

Out of these, 5042 booths are in urban areas and 24520 booths are in rural areas. 29 out of 43 seats have been declared sensitive constituencies. Tight security arrangements have been made here.

PM Modi appeals for voting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the people of Jharkhand to vote as much as possible in the first round of voting. He shared a post on his social media platform X and said, "Today is the first round of voting in the Jharkhand assembly elections. I urge all voters to vote with full enthusiasm in this festival of democracy. On this occasion, my heartiest congratulations to all my young friends who are going to vote for the first time.

Mallikarjun Kharge appeals for votes

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge tweeted and appealed to all voters to definitely vote to strengthen and empower democracy and the Constitution. He said that the people of Jharkhand have to vote for social justice for all, inclusive development and good governance and protection of water, forest, land and tribal civilization.

BJP will win with two-third majority - Minister Sanjay Seth

Union Minister Sanjay Seth, after casting his vote at the polling booth in Ranchi, said that the people of Jharkhand are fed up with corruption in the last 5 years. BJP will win with two-third majority here. He asked whether Jharkhand is a Dharamshala or a refugee center. Infiltrators from Bangladesh are being called here.

During the voting on 43 seats under the first phase of Jharkhand assembly elections, BJP candidate from Ranchi assembly seat C.P. Singh exercised his franchise.

Ranchi SP City Raj Kumar Mehta appealed to the people of Ranchi to exercise their franchise peacefully.

CRPF jawan deployed on election duty injured by bullet

CRPF jawan Santosh Kumar Yadav, deployed on duty in Jharkhand's Latehar assembly elections, has been shot. He was injured by bullet in accidental firing. He was admitted to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
