America is going to get a new president soon. Just a little more time... then America will get a new president. While the contest is between Republican Donald Trump and Democratic Kamala Harris. A close contest is being seen between the two.
Being the oldest democracy and most powerful country in the world, everyone's eyes are on the US elections.
Very soon America will get a new president
In the meanwhile, elections in America are being held at a time when war is being fought on many fronts in the world. The threat of a major war in the Middle East is increasing, while the war between Russia and Ukraine is not coming to an end.
The presidential elections to be held in four years are not only important for America, but its results affect the world. Who will win the US election will determine international relations, economic policy.
Why does the US election matter?
Whether Trump or Kamala Harris wins the election... the results are expected to have a far-reaching effect. From the Gaza war to the Ukraine war, a lot can change.
If Trump wins, the direction of the war between Russia and Ukraine can change. The reason for this is that Trump has been standing with Russian President Putin from the very beginning. He has said many times that if he becomes president, he will stop the economic and military aid of millions of dollars given to Ukraine. In such a situation, he can also lift the sanctions imposed on Putin and Russia. Trump blames Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for Russia's attack. On the other hand, if Kamala Harris wins, Biden's policies will continue.
Similarly, the ongoing war in Gaza can also be affected. Kamala Harris stands with Israel, but she also talks about stopping the death of innocent Palestinians in Gaza.
Whereas, Trump has openly said that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu should do whatever he wants to do. However, Trump claims that if he becomes president, he will bring peace to the Middle East.
Recently a survey was conducted in Israel, in which 66 percent people said Trump was their first choice for the presidential election. Whereas only 17 percent said Kamala Harris was their choice.
NATO will also be affected
Though two-thirds of the budget of NATO, a military organization of 31 countries, comes from America. Trump has threatened to exit NATO many times. Former NATO Secretary General Ross Gottemoeller told the press, that Donald Trump is like a nightmare for other country.
Trump has said many times that other countries should also increase NATO's budget. He insists that every member country should give 2 percent of its GDP to NATO. Currently only 23 out of 31 countries do so. Trump claims that if he wins, he will put pressure on other countries to increase spending.
At the same time, most European countries want Kamala Harris to win. That is because Harris's victory will not affect NATO, nor will it create instability. Harris has said that she will work with NATO and the European Union for Ukraine's victory.
Impact on India
In the past few years, relations between India and the US have remained stable. From India's point of view, Trump winning the election is more beneficial. That is because due to Biden's foreign policy, Russia is getting closer to China. Whereas India does not want this.
Although formation of the Trump government can improve relations between Russia and the US. This will strengthen India's position at the global level.

However, whether Trump wins or Kamala Harris, both will keep India with them. Because in the Indo-Pacific region, India is the only one who can compete with China. America needs India to reduce China's dominance.
If Kamala Harris wins, she can try to strengthen defense cooperation between India and the US. Under the Biden government, things like military exercises, purchase of weapons and technology transfer between the US and India have strengthened.
Even though Trump's arrival can create problems for Indians working in America. Trump's attitude towards immigration has been harsh. In his first term, Trump had banned H-1B visa. On the other hand, Kamala Harris advocates skilled immigrants.
If Kamala Harris wins, then relations between India and America can improve further. Whereas, if Trump wins, his nationalism can create challenges for India.
