Maharashtra Election: NCP chief Ajit Pawar is in the election fray from Baramati assembly seat in the Maharashtra. He will face NCP (Sharad Pawar) candidate Yugendra Pawar. Yugendra is Sharad Pawar's grandson and Ajit's nephew.
Today Ajit Pawar filed his nomination from Baramati seat. Before the nomination, he did a road show in which his son Parth Pawar was also present with him. While Parth is not contesting the elections this time
During the road show Parth said, 'This time people have become practical. They voted for Pawar sahab in Lok Sabha but will vote for Dada in the assembly election. Although during the Lok Sabha elections, 6-6 Pawar were with him and only non-Pawar workers were with us. That also had an impact against us. But this time it will not be seen at all.'
Why is Ajit Pawar's son not contesting the elections?
Whatever promises Dada has made, he has fulfilled them 100 percent. When he gives his word, he fulfills them 100 percent. While answering to a question, why is not contesting this assembly election? He replied, that 'I contested in the last election. This time we have to expand the party.
We have to give opportunities to people, so I do not wish to contest elections. Our aim is to give tickets to new people. Right now, I am fully active in the organization.'
'During the Lok Sabha elections, 6-6 Pawar were with him'
On the question of NCP's defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, he said, 'Those were all last-minute decisions. We had to contest in Maval and Baramati Lok Sabha elections at the last moment.
Last time people voted for them (NCP Sharad Pawar faction) on the basis of emotions rather than development, but this time it will not happen.'
He said this time people have become practical. We voted for Pawar sahab in the Lok Sabha but will vote for Dada in the assembly. During the Lok Sabha elections, 6 Pawars were with them and only non-Pawar workers were with us. That also had an impact against us. But this time it will not be seen at all.'
'Bitterness is only for politics'
Meanwhile in response to a question, he replied, 'Bitterness in relationships is only for politics. We all meet like a family on weddings and birthdays. But this time we will celebrate Diwali with the people of Baramati.' Parth said,
'Our opponents campaigned in a wrong way. What were their campaign issues that this is Pawar sahab's last election? I am speaking positively. Pawar sahab should be in 3-4 more elections in the future. We never spoke negatively. He took votes on sympathy. We never campaigned on sympathy, always campaigned on development.'
