Parliament Winter Session: Uproar over 'One Nation, One Election' as soon as it was presented, in the parliament. After major uproar on this bill, Law Minister Meghwal will request Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to send this bill to the Joint Committee of Parliament for wider discussions.

Voting is going on on the bill after Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal requested to send the 'One Nation, One Election' bill to the Joint Committee of Parliament for wider discussions.

After the suggestion of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal requested Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to send this bill to the Joint Committee of Parliament for extensive discussion.

NCP Sharad faction opposed the bill

NCP Sharad Pawar faction MP Supriya Sule opposed the One Nation, One Election Bill. She said that this is an attack on the federal structure. The tenure of the central and state governments is different, it is not right to make them one.

JDU supports the bill

On the One Nation One Election Bill, JDU MP Sanjay Kumar Jha said, "We had said earlier also that we fully support that Lok Sabha and Assembly elections should be held together. Panchayat elections should be separate. When elections started in this country, it was One Nation One Election, this is nothing new. The anomalies started when Congress started imposing President's rule in 1967, so, we support it. The government is always in election mode... There is a lot of expenditure in repeated elections.

Shiromani Akali Dal attacks Congress and BJP

On the One Nation One Election Bill, Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, "These are just distractions. Issues which should be discussed are not discussed. Neither the government nor the Congress wants to run the House. Who will get food from One Nation One Election? Who will get jobs? Which farmer issue will be solved? How will people benefit from this?"
