PM Modi will send chaadar for Ajmer Sharif Dargah today, 813th Urs of Moinuddin Chishti

The Prime Minister sends a chaadar to Ajmer Dargah every year on the Urs of the Sufi saint. The 813th Urs of Khwaja Saheb is going on from 28 December. Since becoming the Prime Minister, Modi has offered chaadar at Ajmer Sharif Dargah ten times. This will be the 11th time he will carry forward this tradition. Last year, during the 812th Urs, the then Union Minister Smriti Irani and Jamal Siddiqui had offered a chaadar at the dargah on behalf of the Prime Minister.

Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and BJP Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui will go to Ajmer with the chaadar. PM Modi will hand over the chaadar to them at 6 pm today.

It is worth noting that the chaadar offered at the tomb (Mazar-e-Akhdas) of Khwaja Garib Nawaz is a symbol of devotion and respect. Offering chaadar during Urs is considered a powerful form of devotion, which is seen as a means of getting blessings and fulfilling vows. PM Modi sending chaadar this time is also important because it has been claimed that there is a temple in Ajmer Dargah.

A case is going on in the court regarding this, which will be heard on January 24. Vishnu Gupta, the president of Hindu Rashtra Sena, who filed the petition, had appealed not to send chaadar.

Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will carry PM chaddar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will send chaadar to the dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti for the 11th time. Earlier, PM Modi has sent chaadar 10 times. On Thursday, PM Modi will hand over the formal chadar to Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and BJP Minority Front President Jamal Siddiqui. There is a controversy going on in the country regarding the temple at Ajmer Dargah at this time.

This chadar will be offered at Ajmer Sharif Dargah on the occasion of Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. The 813th Urs of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti has started on 28 December 2024.

In fact, since assuming the post of PM, Narendra Modi has offered chadar at Ajmer Sharif Dargah ten times. Last year, during the 812th Urs, the then Union Minister Smriti Irani and Jamal Siddiqui along with a delegation representing the Muslim community on behalf of the Prime Minister presented the chadar at the dargah.

According to the media in-charge of BJP Minority Morcha, the chadar will be handed over by Kiren Rijiju and Jamal Siddiqui before being presented at the dargah. The chadar placed at the shrine of Khwaja Garib Nawaz is a symbol of devotion and respect. Every year, lakhs of people from all over the world come here to celebrate the Urs festival, an important event that marks the death anniversary of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti.
