Priyanka Gandhi ‘s tsunami in Wayanad, ahead by 85 thousand votes

 Priyanka Gandhi is leading in the Wayanad by-election with a lead of 85,000 votes where CPI's Satyan Mokeri and BJP's Navya Haridas are behind.

Wayanad Byelection 2024:  The Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has performed brilliantly in Wayanad, Kerala. This is her electoral debut, and she is contesting on this seat in place of her brother Rahul Gandhi.

In the by-election held in Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi has so far secured more than 1.2 lakh votes and is leading her nearest rival by 85,000 votes.

After Priyanka Gandhi, CPI veteran Satyan Mokeri is in second place who is behind with about 36,000 votes. At the same time, BJP candidate Navya Haridas is in third place who has got about 21,000 votes. Overall, a total of 16 candidates are involved in the electoral battle on the Wayanad seat.

Rahul Gandhi's return from Wayanad

Rahul Gandhi retained his Lok Sabha membership by winning the election from Wayanad in 2019, although he lost from Amethi. This time in 2024, Rahul Gandhi contested from both Wayanad and Rae Bareli seats and won both the seats. After this, he chose Rae Bareli as his seat and suggested his sister Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Wayanad.

Priyanka Gandhi's brother Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi actively participated in Priyanka Gandhi's election campaign.
